Machine surfaces

These are the current public integration surfaces. Low-volume read access stays free for AI, search, research, and people. Paid platform delivery can add higher quotas, signed bulk datasets, service levels, webhooks, support, and negotiated licences without changing the evidence.

Freshness and coverage

StreetProof is in public beta. The ledger and API surfaces are live, but coverage is evaluated city by city. A missing record is never proof that a business is fake, closed, absent, unlicensed, or suspicious.

License and citation

Aggregate city and industry statistics and study findings expressly marked open are CC BY 4.0 with attribution. Presence Records, PPS, source-level data, evidence and the ledger remain proprietary unless a surface says otherwise. Entity facts should cite the Presence Record and the payload's data_as_of. Raw footage, private scout data, unblurred images, raw evidence URLs, and private request payloads are not public machine surfaces.

Machine activity

StreetProof separates transport totals from client classification. Known crawler traffic is included within REST transport totals, so the crawler figure is a REST subset and must not be added to REST again. Internal tests are excluded. Raw events are retained for 90 days. Non-identifying daily aggregates preserve the historical curve without preserving IP addresses or pseudonymous visitor identifiers.

Machine activity shows discoverability and interface use. It does not by itself prove production integration or dependence by a specific AI provider.

Machine-readable status

The same readiness report is available as JSON for agents and platform crawlers. It includes surface URLs, license rules, freshness, usage visibility, coverage semantics, and limitations.

Known limits

  • StreetProof is an observation ledger, not a government registry.
  • No accepted StreetProof citation matched the request. It never proves absence, closure, inactivity, or that a business is unreal, regardless of coverage tier.
  • Public-beta data can include synthetic demonstration rows, always marked is_synthetic=true.
  • Closure, rebrand and vacancy alerts stay unpublished until reviewed lifecycle transitions exist.
  • OCR precision and recall remain not_yet_reportable until labeled holdout samples exist.
  • Raw footage, faces, plates, private scout data and raw evidence URLs are not public machine surfaces.
